Admission and permanence: institutional actions to boost Biology student’s retention in the university teacher training program at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Chemistry and Exact Sciences (Universidad Nacional de Misiones)

The aim of this article is to describe the institutional actions carried out by the FCEQyN to boost biology student´s retention of the university teacher training. Mixed-investigation methods and a flexible design were employed in the investigation. Document-material analysis, questionnaires and in-depth interviews were the instruments used in the investigation. In addition, the article illustrates institutional actions related to the student´s admission system, enrolment program, student´s permanence, tutorial and activities developed by the student wellness-advice service and the student center.
